If we would plot a graph with the population growth and the population orders of magnitude on a logarithmic scale, that graph would be a straight line.įinal point, i`ve never seen the AI grow their population, never. You can easily grow even a 300% hazard rating colony to size 6 even if you throw enough money at it.Īnd it doesn`t make sense because population growth is exponential too. Heck it, make the climb up to pop 10 extreeeeemly hard without cryosleeper, might as well give that thing a use since it`s so damn useless as it is. If they didn`t want "Migration" to be that hard of an influence on population they should give the population industry a growth point bonus that scales with colony size, making the hazard pay do literally nothing outside of negating the hazard penalties or even increasing the cost of hazard pay with population size. Yeah, tensions between major factions are constant and were so for hundreds of years before the player is instantiated in the world, but the casualties of war cannot possibly outpace the population growth of all core worlds.
Unless the lore entail a huge population wiping war it`s very probable the sector will reach 10^10. The sector is an Interstellar entity, and can easily grow in the 10^10th in a few tens of cycles. One feature is in both categories pick one of two skills at every tier. Earth grows about a billion or so every 15-20 years. The skill system the one in the currently released version, 0.95a has some things about it that I like, and some things that I don’t think worked out particularly well. At the start of the game, the player is given the option to choose their headshot and spawns in the world with a small fleet of ships. The player is able to interact with and join one of 7 factions, remain as an independent, or become a mercenary. Earth will literally do that in this century, probably in the next 40 years, 40 years!!! My playthroughs usually last for well over 50 cycles, that`s more than enough time. Starsector is an open world single-player space combat role playing and exploration game, with a procedurally generated map. It is completely reasonable to say that planets can grow to 10^10 population on their own. Or maybe you just want to chill out with a management game, start a colony and expand to your hearts content. This is the stupidest decision I`ve ever seen from a game design perspective. Want to blow more shit up? Try conquering the galaxy and crushing other factions. It even has gameplay for different people: like exploring? Have an entire galaxy. I used Google and could only find images of vmparams files from an old version of the game, and the number it gave is apparently wrong. There's just nothing like it and the game feels a particular neich like nothing else has.
Set in the year 3126, the player commands a fleet of spaceships and engages in combat, trade, and exploration in a procedurally generated world. OS: Windows, Mac (OS X 10.7 or higher), or Linux Memory: 3GB system RAM Graphics: Minimum 1280×768 resolution, 512 MB video memory Processor: Hard to say. Because of this, a size 10 player colony would have a larger population than the rest of the sector combined, by an order of. Each time your colony's size increases, its population increases by an order of magnitude, and colony growth is largely due to immigration, not births.
I was very sceptical when I first considered trying Starsector since it really wasn't like anything I play, but I can definitely say it was worth picking up a hundred times over. Starsector Starsector (formerly Starfarer) is a top-down single-player indie role-playing game developed and published by Fractal Softworks for computers in 2011. Honestly due to not having a timer I can't give a play time but I know I've had the game for a few months and I can't count the amount of times I thought to myself I'll just play a bit of this then go to bed, only to be up til 4 am eye bloodshot and burning, slowly losing my ability to think straight but still playing and making decisions, destroying other fleets and just feeling absorbed in the game. I used Google and could only find images of vmparams files from an old version of the game, and the number it gave is apparently wrong.
